Back to Reiki
Horses in particular are extremely receptive to Reiki and benefit from the treatment in numerous ways.
Many owners/riders/trainers are using Reiki before and after workouts. Once
introduced to Reiki, horses seem to be ready and willing to receive the energy. On occassion a horse will give
a strange look as to be asking "what is that?" and almost always seem to show signs of the energy at work.

Procedure
A Reiki Practitioner will usually start by "laying hands" on the most acceptable part of the horses body.
Usually, it is the back, shoulders or neck. The horse will feel the energy change and very often will push his body
into the hands. It is very common that the horse will begin to lower his head and you could feel a difference in the
respiratory rate. His eyes will usually begin to close and his head will continue to get lower. Often the lower
lip will droop and quiver, he will lick, yawn and sometimes drool. It seems to give the effect of a sedation.
After treatment, the horse usually exhibits a boost of energy and playfulness.
