Since Reiki has proven so successful on humans, many people are now turning to Reiki for their animal companions.

Reiki works on animals in the same way that it works on people. It is used to realign or remove a blockage of the chakra(s) which alleviates and eliminates pain and ailments resulting in a more positive and happier animal.

Procedure

When working on animals there is no preference in whether the animal is standing, sitting or lying down. The practitioner "lays hands" on the animal finding a receptive position. This position is where the animal is most comfortable. Animals, being so receptive of energy immediately feel the change. The reaction and treatment time of the animal differs from animal to animal, treatment to treatment.

Animals experience different reactions to the Reiki treatment. Some of the reactions include drooling, quivering lip, muscle twitches, relaxation, sleepiness and hyperactivity.

*Horses*

Horses in particular are extremely receptive to Reiki.
